BUS 136 - Business Ethics (3 credits)

This course is designed to help business students improve their ability to make ethical decisions in business by providing them with a framework that they can use to identify, analyze, and resolve ethical issues in business decision making. An emphasis is placed on the importance of understanding that individual values and ethics are important in this process. By studying business ethics, students begin to understand how to cope with conflicts between their personal values and those of the organization.
CPL104 - Spreadsheets (1 credit)
with Beth Steiger
A hands-on introduction to spreadsheets using the Microsoft Excel software. Its main objective is to provide each student with a working knowledge of spreadsheet software.
CPL108 - Powerpoint (1 credit)
with Beth Steiger
An introductory course for the uses and functions of Windows presentations. Emphasis is on basic concepts and the fundamentals of creating useful presentations and application to practical business problems.
HED 130 - Stress Management (2 credits)
This course is a holistic approach to stress management which emphasizes scientific knowledge and awareness of how attitures and unhealthy practices cause stress. Healthy coping skills are developed to reduce negative stress experienced in adult life. Included are lecture, discussion, role playing, relaxation techniques, physical activities, instructional aids, and individual self-discovery projects.
PSY 296 - Psychology Special Topics (3 credits)

SPE105 - Interpersonal Communication (3 credits)
with Leah Hagen
Introduction to the theory and practice of interpersonal communication. The focus of the course is on learning and practicing the skills needed to improve the quality of interpersonal communication.
CED 450 CPR Recertification Skills Test
with Karen Balyeat
This course is for recertification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers, hands-on skills training.
Students must bring proof of completion of the American Heart Association Heartcode BLS online course with them to the skills test out. The online training is purchased through the American Heart Association website: HeartCode® BLS | AHA
Students ready for the hands-on skills test out should:
- Send Karen Balyeat (KarenB@gogebic.edu) a copy of online completion verification. Please email her the information and set up a test-out time.
- On the day of the hands on skills test, go to A309 on the GCC Ironwood Campus. Karen Balyeat’s office is A310, right across the hall.
- Test out equipment will be set up for you to practice on. Once you are ready to test out, notify Karen, and she will proctor your test out.
This class includes the cost of a certification card. Cards will be sent to students at the end of each month.
